Position Overview
The Inventory Controller will be responsible for the governance, internal controls and processes to oversee and manage Choice clients’ global inventory. The Inventory Controller will establish processes and build a team to support Choice operations, build internal controls, drive inventory accuracy, and limit risk of inventory loss.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish a key set of internal controls and governance measures to ensure the completeness and accuracy of customer inventory.
- Establish a comprehensive set of dashboards and reporting tools to effectively manage the process and enhance visibility for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement real-time data tracking, key performance indicators, and automated reporting to drive informed decision-making, improve transparency, and optimize operational efficiency.
- Take the ownership in leveraging trend analysis to identify necessary inventory and billing adjustments, ensuring cost optimization and accuracy and informing leadership.
- Lead monthly storage billing process ensuring accuracy and completeness of client billing and vendor invoicing
- Assist our warehousing vendors in inventory management, which may include storage transactions and reconciliations to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Responsible for storage invoice reconciliation across all vendor accrual accounts.
- Work closely with Client Services on all storage-related client queries and occasionally present findings directly to clients, as the subject matter expert on storage.
- Oversee the cycle count process to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and maintain accountability for inventory accuracy.
- Maintain scheduling and reporting of physical inventory counts & results for all clients
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 8-10 Years of experience, preferably with inventory management
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and effective communication skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Excel skills
- Highly organized and attentive to detail
- Self-directed with a strong work ethic; capable of working independently with limited supervision.
- Ability to occasionally work outside of established business hours and adjust personal schedule to meet deadlines is required.
